some thoughts on adoption

I read the post yesterday. My mom and I recently had a conversation about adoption. She remarked that if she could afford it she would adopt a couple of African girls. I replied that there are lots and lots of kids right here in Georgia that need adoption. Her response to that was interesting - that the children in Africa need to be adopted more so than the American kids because they are in more extreme poverty than the American kids. Now my Mom is not a believer so she doesn’t see the general spiritual poverty involved in a life without Christ, but I wonder what your take is on the perspective that adopting poor foreign born children is more worthwhile than local kids.
