Hey All,
Matt and my father pulled into Portland this evening. While in the process of dropping th truck off for the evening, the truck hit a tree in our new landlord’s yard. Nobody was hurt, but a significant portion of the tree was damaged….A.K.A. on the ground. Our new landlord is out of town until tomorrow morning. Matt called to explain the damage and the landlord seemed understanding…our worry is that he might not realize that (in Matt’s words) “30% of his tree is now missing.”
Please pray that everything will go smoothly tomorrow and that any olive branch that we humbly extend (no pun intended) might be graciously accepted and that this would not taint what is hoped to be a great relationship.
Thanks,
Lydia
UPDATE:
Matt and Dad moved us in on Saturday and everything went very well. Scott and Lisa were understanding about the tree and have been wonderful. Dad, Matt, and their children spent a few hours cleaning up the downed limbs to use as fire wood - apparently the children were super-psyched to have firewood. The kids also seem really pleased to have dog-access (and I think Carter is fairly excited about having kid access). All in all, God has been abundantly GOOD in giving us an neat little place to stay and a wonderful family to know.
Matt went the church we met them through on Sunday (Imago Dei). He said everyone was really wonderful and that it reminded him of DCF (home).
Thanks for all your prayers. Praise God for safe travels, his provision, and his plans.

We are thankful for Matt’s safe trip and will pray about the tree situation.
excellent
“He has shown you, O man, what is good:
And what does the LORD require of you?
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God.”
Tree drama! I feel that pain. I’m so glad it worked out and that your landlord was so understanding. It’s awesome that Matt liked the church so much. I hope it will be like home to you guys, but you still have to miss us a little :) Much love!
