Continued Worship from May 24

Hey everybody,

On Sunday we talked about using the forum to continue our worship from Sunday. The idea is that by Tuesday night people could post 1 thought in connection to our time on Sunday - perhaps a song, verse, poem, thought…that comes to mind. Wednesday or Thursday you could respond to at least 1 thing that another person shared. Unless led otherwise, try to keep your post to 300 words or less so we will all be more likely to read them.

Notes from Sunday:

Romans 7:7:13 - Chet 3 gave a short message from this passage.

Prayer - Greg prayed giving us encouragement to apply the message
Prayer - Ann prayed asking for us to have patience and words to share the Gospel

Song - Not What My Hands Have Done

Mattthew 26:26-29 - Chet 2 reminded us of the words of Jesus concerning the bread and cup…and prayed thanking God for the sacrifice of Christ, His resurrection and second coming

Ephesians 4:30 - Greg exhorted us “not to grieve the Holy Spirit” and that we can use this verse as our “Christian ethic”

Song - More Than Watchmen
Song - All Praise

Psalm 25 - Alex read and encouraged us from this powerful Psalm relating to sin

Song - The Lord is Gracious and Compassionate
Song - I’ll Fly Away
Song - Those Who Trust

Closing Prayer - Derek
Announcements
Prayer of thanks for our meal and fellowship

Here’s a blog post that I wrote Sunday night after the service. Grace & peace, family!

It was good to be back with our DCF family this past Sunday!
Alex, I enjoyed your blog entry. It is so true that our efforts are fruitless without God. I desire to evangelize as well, but I want it to be out of God’s strength and His abundance in my life, not from my own efforts. Some relating scriptures:

Psalm 127
1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.

John 15:5
5”I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

I have also had “The Lord is gracious and compassionate” in my head a lot this week. I have much to learn along these aspects of His character. May God continue to teach us of His ways.
